Day 27 – Rome: Arrivederci

As we have a 3:30am start tomorrow morning I thought I would write my closing post a little earlier.

So today is the last day of our trip. We opted for a slower start and a walk around some of the shops.

As it happened we ended up walking to the Piazza del Popolo where we found the Leonardo da Vinci museum. What a facinating place and person! The museum was set up with working models of many of his inventions and you could touch them to see how they worked. We ended up spending a bit of time here and then had a light lunch and strolled back through the shops to confront the final packing of the luggage. We haven’t bought much so this has not been an issue however the general packing has become a bit sloppy and needed to be tightened up for the plane – which we seem to have managed.

We decided to have a short walk after getting this sorted out and then have a early dinner in preparation for the long trip home.

I hope those of you who have been following the trip have found our travels interesting. Thank you for liking or commenting on the posts – it is nice to know that wherever you are in the world – you are still connected with family and friends.

I will leave you with this quote that I found in a magazine that was in our room in Paris.

“Travelling. It leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller”.

IBN BATTUTA

(Not sure I am a storyteller but I liked the sentiment of this quote 🙂 )

Arrivederci Roma.

I will write a final post on our return.

Love and hugs to all – Wendy and Norm xoxox
